Date | Original Topic | 16th January 2002 | medal to 2/24 man By Richard Strotjost I recently saw a South African campaign medal named to: 2891 Pte. A. Laver. 2-24th Foot. Rim was engraved in upright capitols and looked authentic. Can someone tell me if he is on the casualty list for Isandhlwana or was at Rorke's Drift? The medal was missing the bar and ribbon, but didn't look like it was renamed, engraving looked contemporary. I need to make a decision on purchasing it or not. One other thing, the numbers for the regt. were written 2-24 and not 2/24, is that correct? Thank you, Rick Strotjost | Date | Replies | 17th January 2002 | Lee Stevenson 2891 Private A.
