New memorial planned for Rorke's Drift By Peter Ewart In today's N/Witness Amafa are reported to be planning two new memorials, one to Cetshwayos' embarkation at Port Durnford & one at R/Drift to the Zulu dead. The Amafa director, Barry Marshall, doesn't actually say so but seems to imply that there is no memorial to the Zulus at R/Drift at present, which isn't quite so. Nor had I understood Cetshwayo to have been badly treated physically by the British at Cape Town or Oude Moulen, although have only read British accounts, of course, and am aware of his many frustrations. These memorials will presumably be unveiled at the 125th anniversary commemorations. Peter
