I now realise Ive been there before unsuccessfully looking for the grave.
The vicar didnt know where it was and even thought he was a VC. On the B5428 Google maps: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.2231323,-3.423865,3a,90y,288.47h,85.32t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sV3itJkocGbu1bZwF3L4F8Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 (copy and paste the whole and it gives a streetview) |

The rededication ceremony took place at 1100am on Saturday 15th June &
commenced with a service inside Holy Trinity Church, Trefnant, led by the rector Revd Colin Mansley, and included a short talk on Lance Sergeant Taylor's life & career by Mr Graham Mason., as well as the Regimental Collect of the South Wales Borderers. On completion, the service moved outside to the churchyard and those present were led by the Goat Major & Regimental Mascot of the Royal Welsh to the graveside; the ceremony then continued with the act of dedication itself. After the Exhortation, given by the Chairman of the Royal British Legion North Wales District, the Union Flag was lifted from the new headstone by the great granddaughter and great great granddaughter of James Taylor, before members of the 1879 Group fired three volleys over the grave. The Last Post & Reveille were then sounded by Sgt Bowden of the Royal Welsh Band. Wreathes were then laid by: HM Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd Chairman of Denbighshire County Council The Family of LSgt Taylor D Company 3rd Battalion The Royal Welsh The Royal Marines The Royal British Legion Royal Welch Fusiliers/Royal Welsh Comrades Association SSAFA Help For Heroes Army Cadet Force The service then concluded with the Regimental Collect of the Royal Welsh. Thanks to Tim Needham, Drum Major, Band of HM Royal Marines, Plymouth, for all his efforts The event was extremely successful, but could not have happened without the absolutely outstanding generosity of Vale of Clwyd Memorials, who donated, inscribed & erected the headstone.
