Just doing a bit of reading about events at the far east of Isandlwana -- specifically the "ambush" of Dartnell and the area around the Pindo.

This is written about in "Zulu-Rising" ( pg 286 ) but I am still getting my head around the finer detail , and looking for more background.

Where did this "ambush" take place ? I have heard near the headwaters of the Nsuze stream / River ?

Which Matshana are we talking about ?

kaMondise or kaSitshakuza ?

Was Matshana's normal place of residence Qhudeni -- or -- Pindo ? IF Pindo what were the caves used for in an earlier time ( IF they were used at all )

Which Matshana was it that had aroused the ire of Shepstone -- and what for ?

I seems that there was also a lot of confusing stuff happening on the 20th / 21st -- not only the 22nd.

Many thanks Jamie.
Have been consulting your excellent site quite a lot.
Hopefully when the data is worked we will have something to contribute

Ken speaks about a couple of spots but I cannot find their names on any map -- following this lead up.
