I�ve been trying to find out if this is known to be the case, more so since finding out about this book

I never really gave much thought to the handgrip of 19th Century revolvers, until I seen it mentioned in a book review. I guess it could include custom-made for the person buying, whether civilian or military. I�ve not yet looked to see if each style of grip has a specific designation, or they were styles chosen by a particular gun manufacturer for their revolvers only.

I�m only really aware of the variations in the handles of my favoured Bowie knives
