Does anyone know whether Charles Norris-Newman's second name was Louis?

Martin,
Thanks I'd already found that one in my research along with three entries in The London Gazette, two which relate to bankruptcy, the other to the administration of a will. I've now discovered a biography of him on a journalism website, that confirms he is the one mentioned in the divorce papers and the bankruptcy cases. He was also in Tienstsin 1913-14, I wonder if he reported the S.W.B.'s action there? Thanks again, John Y. |

Coll,
I'm afraid not, there were a few others from our period suchas Prior & Forbes. John Y. |

Was Norris-Newman more less-known than others in his profession whom we know of at that time, as I'd have thought a portrait of him would have appeared long before now ? However, I'm not sure papers of the time gave visual recognition of their reporters, such as a sketch of them, beside any articles they had written. Of course, it could just be the fact he didn't have many photos taken. C.J. |
