My Brother -in-law has just installed a sixty inch TV along with cinema sound, Blue Ray player and an HD DVD of Zulu. Snatched a clip the other night. The quality of the colour and sound just knock your socks off. We will be watching the film sometime over the holiday. Redditch is not far from Brierley Hill so if you are now mobile enough, you are welcome to join us. That goes for anyone else in the area. (Bring your own popcorn) My e mail is [email protected] |

Sixty inches??? But that's five feet, for goodness sake! They actually make television sets five feet long? How can your brother-in-law possibly bring himself to sacrifice so much bookshelf space for a mere television set? Usherette comes free of charge, I presume ... Peter |

Trust me on this one. Size really does matter.
Personally speaking I've got a 40incher but I feel inadequate after visiting him. |

Now Peter, you'll excite the lads. Remember that it's five feet diagonally, so the length is actually quite a bit less than four feet... Hmmm, that means my 32 inch is, well, a bit smaller yet.('')
Seriously though, unless my math has gone the way of my vigor, a widescreen TV has less viewing area than a comparable size (measured diagonally) or even somewhat smaller "full screen" TV. Something to keep in mind possibly when we next are shopping for a high def television experience. |

Now Boys stop quarrelling let the ladies decide which they would prefer 60 inchs or 32 inches mean while I will have to decline all offers as my wife has decided my movements over Christmas. Thank you anyway and a Merry Christmas and Peaceful New Year to you all.

Clive, just leave the key under the front mat. And some snacks would be appreciated as well-- I'm rather fond of Newman's Own Tender White Popcorn with melted butter (not margarine). Do you have time before you leave to pick us up at Heathrow? Did I mention a dozen or so of my buddies are interested in the BD premier of ZULU as well?
Seriously, have a most excellent holiday. Regards, Saw. |
