I recently acquired this excellent poster and book, as I think they are relevant to the subject of horses used in conflict, Hlobane is covered apparently in the book

In the AZW it seems that every man that managed to escape from inevitable death was due to the bravery of their horses, which I consider were the true heroes of the whole campaign, especially Isandhlwana

The Blue Cross Fund was set up during WW1, was there anything remotely similar in the AZW aftermath ?

Iím hoping to soon acquire a book about the animal version of the VC too.
