Got it a while ago, very disapppointing. Might do someone as a starter book, but the mistakes are so basic it was irritating, considering I think the author has wrote other books. Read it...then binned it...not worth trying to read again, it offered nothing new to the subject. Hinted inside about a new book by a Susan Coleridge about Durnford being written too...came to nothing...not sure why he mentioned it...a bit previous methinks.....

Indeed. He contradicts himself more than once, and sometimes on the same page. Cannot get the officer ranks right.

On reading the book it�d be difficult to believe that was his career, unless there were other factors involved, rushed book series, deadline, no proof reading/editing, etc
