Hi all,

I just recently stumbled upon the song "Zulu Stamp" for the 1964 Zulu Soundtrack, which was originally an extra additional score added on to the soundtrack album record by John Barry. Interestingly, the music is loosely based off of the Zulu wedding dance at the beginning of the film, and if you listen closely, you can tell at some parts it is in fact indeed taken from the wedding dance ritual music.

For those of you who haven't listened to it, here:

Zulu Stamp (Instrumental version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PltOH2tUCKE

Zulu Stamp (With vocals): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4co3sTmt_8

I actually like this song a lot, but I am sort of embarrassed to say I can't really understand what the man is saying in the vocal version of "Zulu Stamp", and despite researching online, I can't seem to find any lyrics for this song, either. Embarassed I can make out the word "zulu" but I can't understand the rest either because it is in another language, or I am just not that good at understanding foreign accents. (I've never really been good at hearing the lyrics in any song, regardless). To be honest, I would really want to know, since it seems like a good song, and knowing the lyrics would make it even better!

Regards,

Not sure it's one of John Barry's best compositions. I can't understand a word of it either........

That's because it was sung by the Latin contingent.

Interesting. Don't know if this is just me, but I can almost hear him saying "Say you'll meet Pakisona(Someone's name)" Ooh. Oh no. Zulu." in the song. Anybody else here it, too? (Keep in mind, I actually had to listen to this about a dozen times to actually hear it)

I tried to oblige but "do you think I could stand that .......... more than once?".
You're very brave to have listened that many times.

Smile Thanks.

So, by the looks of it, nobody can speak Zulu here, or whatever language this song is in.
