I spotted this on eBay. Although I don't buy historical reproductions it did strike me as one of the better produced items that I have seen. So if anyone has a spot on their wall here are the details:
You are bidding on a very nice piece of Zulu War memorabilia. The wooden shield has a set of medals and badges mounted to it that are related to the Zulu War of 1879. Firstly there is a full size Victoria Cross. Then there is a silver plated or solid silver South Africa campaign medal with attached 1879 bar. Then there is an officers 24th Regiment of foot gilt Shako plate with two 24th Foot Collar badges. The medals and badges have only been loosly fixed to the wooden shield via bluetack etc and easily removeable to be properly mounted if so wanted. I do not know if the South Africa medal is silver plated or full solid silver but it is definetely well tarnished. Please note that all of the medals and badges are REPRODUCTIONS and are not originals. If your passion is for collecting pieces from the Zulu War then this shield would look stunning mounted on your wall and is a fraction of the price of original medals.
