Apparently to be released this year.

I was informed there may not be any prior publicity before its release, nor a pre-order facility.

No further details about the author, nor who is publishing it.

A bit frustrating to say the least.

Nothing further as yet. Sad

The only proof that the book does/will exist, is mention of it on page 92, in Edmund Yorke's recent 'Battle Story: Isandlwana 1879' book -

The page tells a (very) short biography of Anthony, then at the bottom it says - (Main Source: S. Coleridge, Life of Colonel Anthony Durnford, forthcoming 2012).

If I hadn't seen this, I'd have doubted the book was even real.

I'm not sure why there is going to be no earlier publicity or pre-order facility, as it creates an air of mystery and expectations, which could end up being a big disappointment. Confused

Well, we are into the fourth month of 2012, so hopefully something will be heard about it soon. Rolling Eyes

This is also from Yorke's book, page 8 -

'Mrs Susan Coleridge, currently working on a major reappraisal of the life of Colonel Anthony Durnford, has been a most useful source of information, especially on Durnford's still controversial role at Isandlwana.'

Coll,

Presently overseas and sadly unable to contact Ed Yorke.

Will try again upon my rtn later this year.

Thanks. Wink

Personally, I've given up looking for any details on the release date, author, publisher - rather waiting for it to magically appear.

Hi Coll, I was just glancing back over this thread; could Ed Yorke be referring to a student working on a post-graduate thesis or dissertation, therefore forthcoming, but not actually going to be published as such? That would certainly explain the complete lack of publicity.

Yes. It may be a possibility. As the silence by both author and publisher is puzzling Confused , if seeking readers to purchase said book, as with it only being mentioned within a Zulu War book and forum, really isn't going to encourage a high demand for orders outside of these sources, due to lack of any notification.

It could be also that it is a 2013/14 release rather than this year, which might explain publicity being held off at the moment until confirmation.

A case of waiting at present. Rolling Eyes

Coll,

Have spoken to Ed Yorke. He informs me that the author is still working on the book;other social activities measure equally in her life.

So, book is being written, but it won't be out soon.

Keep watching out. I'm sure more will follow.

Coll,

The research is certainly being done; publication may take a little longer.
