Along with my equally fervent Welsh cousin, I went to Horkstow in Lincolnshire to hear Rob deliver a talk on Rorke's Drift. He held an audience spellbound for over an hour without props other than a formidable stick. Having heard him speak before, I was not surprised but others were amazed at his skills as a raconteur. The location was the local Church and this gave a dramatic and unusual background to the talk. Proceeds go to Help for Heroes, something I like to support along with Hounds for Heroes. All in all, a great evening out.

Hi

It was amazing - really good event. It was the Rorke's Drift talk - I really enjoyed it. The venue was very nice - it was a barn and they did some nice food afterwards, not bad for 25 quid with all proceeds going to a cricket club. I had a bit of a mission getting these and it was a shame I was so tired, else I would have stayed for longer after. I was on my own and the people were pretty friendly.

I was told that Rob Caskie is now freelance? And should be performing more? I'm not sure if this is true or not?

I'm not certain how Rob's talks are organised. My cousin is interested in trying to book him in the future for a talk in his village hall in Lincolnshire so I'll let you know if I hear anything. Glad you enjoyed the talk.

Margaret

Try e-mailing Rob - it might be June-October 2012 before he returns to UK, you may be involved in a portion of the airfare/accn/travel costs of the trip.

I have seen Rob and Karen tonight - they are planning two trips to UK in 2012 - I suggest you email him.
