On the home page of the website (on the left) there are accounts of Rorke's Drift, Isandhlwana and Ulundi. It might be worth adding articles about the other main events in the war and I would appreciate any member who could provide a synopsis of some other battles such as Kambula, Gingindlova, Eshowe, Hlobane, Intombi Drift and any other major event.

The length is not important but bear in mind it is an outline of the facts which the more casual visitor to the site would not be familiar (see the three battles already covered).

If there are any offers, could you put your choice as a reponse here so that it can be seen which topic is covered and avoid having to choose in the event of multiple offers. I trust there will be offers!

Many thanks.

Alan,

Unless there are any other volunteers I'm happy to do Hlobane & Khambula, as I've already written articles on both actions if that would help?

I would very much like to cover Intombi Drift unless there is anyone better qualified who wishes to write about it.

Thank you both, that's three of the five mentioned. Thank you. If you require advice on the method of presentation, please let me know. If you have any pics with captions that would also be helpful.

I just thought that it would be helpful also if dates were included so that the chronology can be shown.

Thank you again.

Perhaps I can help with an account of Gingindlovu since I already have some notes about it. Would that be OK? I would welcome any presentation tips you might care to offer. I have some photographs and a map which might be useful.

Keith,
thank you, that would be kind. Maps and pics/illustrations would be fine. You could send as an email or Word document. It would be helpful to indicate where the illustrations fit in and with a caption when needed.

How about the death of the Prince Imperial? I'd be willing to do something on that topic if you like.

Alan,

I don't know what's become of it, but you used to have an article on the Prince Imperial on there, by myself.

Gremlins in the machine?

Alan or Dawn,
If no one else offers and it would be of any use, I've got the Prince Imperial's death card that I could scan for the cause.

If the death of the Prince Imperial has been done, I could do the siege of Eshowe seeing as I have a whole book to reference it on - Fearful Hard Times by Ian Castle and Ian Knight. I'm a bit time-challenged at the moment though, so I may be a while.

And that would overlap with Keith's account of Gingindlovu, of course.

Dawn,
that would be fine. In your own time. I'll consider the topic taken shall I?
Thank you.

Sawubona,
that might be useful if it's no trouble. We can add to the existing piece which I'll probably move to the new list of events. Thank you.

Alan,
On its way in your email. Also another cabinet card for your perusal and insight.

Yep, that's fine, Alan. What's the limit on the word count?

I have to get accounts away to the accountant first - end of our financial year was 31 March. So figures before words for the time being Rolling Eyes
