Just reading "Crossing the Buffalo" by A Greaves and on page 128 2nd paragraph it states, the actual orders that Pulleine inherited from Glyn when he assumed command at Isandlwana were discovered in 2001 and their content suggest that Pulleine was obeying orders to the letter he had received from Chelmsford .

Does any one have copy of these orders in PDF or similar format, what exactly did they say, is there more information on these documents and I take it they are not the Curling letters.

Can anyone make any comments on the above issue?

Regards,

Andrew

The document is part of the Royal Engineers Museum collection. Suggest you visit Chatham.

I think that the document to which your refer was the order issued to all column commanders and not those supposedly given to Pulleine by Clery. As far as I am aware, there is no copy of Clery's order, if he ever consigned them to paper.

I am sorry I am not in a position to follow this up over the Internet: You have two options:

1. Contact the Royal Engineers Museum

2. Contact Adrian Greaves of the Anglo-Zulu War Historical Society who has had sight of these documents.
