Hello, I have been lurking for some time but now thought i would post.
I have been looking for a reproduction of the Foreign service helmet.
While i do have several in my collection, they all are not of the correct type that was used during the period.
They all have the "pointed" front brim instead of the rounded style.
There seems to be a flood of cheap "Pith" type helmets comming out of Vietnam and i have three of them but as i said, they are pretty cheap, the domed vent is not a vent at all and they are usually deformed in one way or another.

So my question is, does anybody have a good source for these helmets that won't cost me my first child??

I do have two nice "Cork" helmets but they are of the wrong period from what i was told
Here is the link if you want to see them http://www.britishmilitaria.com/4_zulu.html
Scroll to the bottom of the page.

I bought one of each about 15 years ago and they were only $50.00 each.
Now they are WAY out of my price range..

Hello Friends, Today i ordered this helmet for $75.00.
What do you think? I have no clue to it's age but it looks pretty good besides the flared edges.

I have seen both photos and references in a couple of books that dealt with covers for the Home Service helmet when worn on foreign service. I'm certain the cover was white, but it may have been khaki drill, and of course I don't remember the title of the book. Anyone familiar with this?
