It is with deep regret that I have just learnt of the death of my dear friend, His Royal Highness Velekhaya Abraham Shange, at the age of 81 years.

Prince Shange was the Great-Grandson of Prince Dabulamanzi kaMpande, and justifiable proud of that fact. Those of us who knew him will be aware that he normally carried a staff belonging to his Great-Grandfather.

He was a wit, a raconteur and a great ambassador for the Zulu Nation.

H.R.H. Prince V. A. Shange, photographed at Brecon, in his left hand the V.C. of Gonville Bromhead, in his right the V.C. of Alfred Henry Hook, under the watchful gaze of Bill Cainan.

Go well my brother, I will miss you dearly.

Rest in peace, your battle is over.

That is really sad news. He was one of life's true gentlemen and
very passionate and knowledgeable about Zulu history.

My condolences go to his family and his wives.

It really is sad.
