Not sure if this should go under films or books, but there is a new, updated edition of this book in preparation from Tomahawk Press.

Now's your chance if you missed it the first time round!

I have the first edition which is superb. It would be interesting to know what "extras" are in the revised edition.

I'm sure Sheldon will have found some very interesting items. Will have to get a copy just to see what they are!

Not sure I should add to this thread as I have a vested interest, but... I received the first copies of the revised edition today, so it should hit the streets (or the net) on Friday. If Alan and Peter allow me, I will provide more information on the additional contents.

I would find that very useful.

Thanks, Alan. Here's some of the blurb from the back of the 50th Anniversary Edition: "In this fully revised and expanded Second Edition of Sheldon Halls highly acclaimed, sell-out book you will find additional material including a first-hand account of the films shooting and post-production by the personal assistant to the producers; never-before-seen insider information on the financing of the production; a critical analysis of the film itself; and over a hundred new illustrations, some never before published, including a new colour section." The book is now 500 pages + 16 pages of colour. Paperback only.

Sheldon,

Can I lobby for a hard back version?

Moving as often as I do, hard backs are always more robust.

Not a hope, unfortunately - too expensive to produce and keep the price within reason. RRP is 25 - the same as the hardback original was nine years ago!

I'm hoping the new material will be worth the extra punt - it took a lot of putting together.
