On my last trip to Isandlwana at the end of July 2004, I purchased from the shop a book called Battles of KwaZulu-Natal by Ken Gillings. On the inside rear cover it was hand writen (Signed by the auther, Isandlwana 24 th July 2004) and then his signature. I was told by the shop curators that i had missed him by only 2 days, and he had signed 4 books to sell in the shop.
Does anybody know if Ken was actually at Isandlwana on this date, the book is as precious to me either way, but I would like to know. |
