Hi all
Would be very grateful for any information or pictures relating to the coloured explosive labels which would go in the small recessed area to the right on the sliding lid seam of the Mk V Martini Henry ammo box. At present I am researching the MK v box with the intention of making a very detailed modern interpretation.
Many thanks
Lester.

Lester,

Look at the previous posts regarding Ammo Boxes.

I am sure the labelling (paper labels and the on-wood markings) would have been discussed in detail.

Many thanks guys
It's the small wax seal on the right of the sliding lid seam I am finding difficulty understanding. At present cannot find an image or description.

Hello Lester,

On a separate post I mentioned I have a MkIV box (the same as the MkV save for difference in the retaining band composition and the additional ammunition harness straps). The box has been opened as so the WD Explosives roundel seal has been destroyed, but its recess is still present. The recess is 1" (25mm) diameter if that helps. I expect yo have found a diagram of its appearance but I have one if not.

Adrian. Would be very grateful for any information or pictures you may have regarding the explosive seal.
intend to make a very good quality repro, but can not find any information about seal and how it was manufactured, any clues would be a great help.
Thank you.
