All,

From the kentnews.co.uk of 20th July 12:

Two medals from the Zulu War with a combined value of 45,000 have been stolen from a household in Tenterden.

The pair was stolen on May 1 by a man who visited the home of a member of the Zulu Historian Society Group in Woodchurch Road, Tenterden.

The man is described as a white man, aged 50 to 60 years old and was very smartly dressed wearing smart brown shoes and was very knowledgeable about the Zulu War.

He turned up unannounced and said he was interested in joining the group, and showed the victim a number of artefacts and medals.

The owner of the medals only recently noticed them missing, and said the sentimental value of the items was more significant and would like them to be returned.

Anyone with information about the theft, or the whereabouts of the medals is asked to contact PC Philip Butcher from the Ashford Neighbourhood Team on 101.

Alternatively, contact Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Can anyone from this site help?

I suspect that the victim is Adrian Greaves. I hope that whoever is responsible is caught and used as muti.

Yes, the following is from the website of the AZWHS:

"Missing medals update.

Reward of 5,000.

To assist Kent Police with their enquiries, a reward of 5,000 is offered for information leading to the recovery of these two medals which were removed from the AZWHS office.
Contact details;
Kent Police - Crime Report ZY/19178/12

++++

Following a recent visit to the Society office from an alleged medal collector, two medals were subsequently found to be missing. The missing medals are,
Pte T Parry 24th and Pte S Parry 24th. Both medals were a gift from David Rattray so they have special significance.
Kent Police are investigating.
This loss may well be connected to the theft of about 25 medals from the Redoubt Military Museum at Eastbourne on 3rd July, including an MC and DSO.
If you own medals and have a visit from a well-spoken, well dressed gentleman in his fifties, who knows a lot about Zulu War medals but doesn't give any correct personal details, please take extra care.
Additional details will be posted following discussions with insurers and Kent Police.
Dr Adrian Greaves"

Good luck to them,
Harold
