Seen some time ago in the files of the Western Times and only just come across again:

�110 for a Rorke's Drift VC

The Victoria Cross awarded to Pte William Jones for heroism at Rorke's Drift in 1879 was sold for the record price of �110 at Glendining's auction rooms, London, yesterday.

(Friday 29th June, 1917)
