Fascinating.

I've only imagined what could be done with 'Zulu Dawn' to make it into the film it was meant to be, considering no new Isandlwana movie will be forthcoming any time soon.

Previously, discussions about using CGI for enlarging the size of the Zulu army, the amount of tents in the British camp, an image of the actual mountain instead of its poor stand-in used in the film, etc., etc.

I think I even asked how much the rights of the film would cost, for someone/a company to get hold of it to make improvements.

Sheldon doesn't like the idea of it being altered in any way, as it is a cult film to many, but a new version with all these additions, including the presenting of more eye-catching posters and stronger music, would be absolutely brilliant.

Thanks very much for the link. Wink

Hugely interesting.

Thank you Coll.

This will simply be an alternative take on Zulu Dawn for fans of the original movie.

Many have a misconception that a FanEdit in someway harms the original. This is not the case. In this digital age it is possible to watch your choice of media in many variant forms without any harm coming to the original.

I recommend watching one of my previous FanEdits called

D-DAY: THE BEGINNING OF THE END

http://fanedit.org/497/

This shows a little of what is possible in the medium of the FanEdit.

You must own the original DVD before obtaining the FanEdit version.

A very smooth-running piece of work - Nicely done !

I really like the inclusion of the actual mountain, as it is an iconic image, necessary for this battlefield. Very Happy

I'm definitely a fan.

Thanks

There is no buying or selling of any FanEdit. You must own the original DVD of the movie, in this case ZULU DAWN before you may watch the FanEdit. A release date is not yet confirmed.

Andrew,

When or if ZULU DAWN: The FanEdit is released it will be announced here and on FanEdit.org with all the information needed to watch it.

You do NOT need to send a copy of your DVD to anyone.

I would recommend you find out more about FanEdits by visiting FanEdit.org

http://fanedit.org/

Or for a definition

There is no release date yet. Maybe some previews before release but RDVC forum will be the first to know.

I've recently been listening to 'The Planets' by Gustav Holst, reminding myself of how 'Mars' (the bringer of war) is great music for a dramatic war film, especially about Isandlwana.

Additionally, I liked 'Brothers In Arms' by Dire Straits, as an idea for end music, which, funnily enough, I've just seen/heard used on the TCM channel during an advertisement for a war film season, showing clips from various movies of this genre, the song itself 'fitting in' fairly well with the subject matter.

I just thought I'd post this while it is in my mind.
