As ever, plenty of common sense from your pen (or keyboard). Could have done with your calming influence a couple of weeks ago. Please time your absences more carefully in future! Wink

I too, have been absent for a few weeks and am astounded to find the debate raging upon my return. I think it's all due to the wide range of people we have on the forum. As Andy has pointed out, there are now 500 members and with that amount of people, you are sure to get varied opinions and levels of expertise.

And, as my Yorkshire grandfather used to say, "There's none so queer as folk!"

Dear Dawn,

Tried to aid this discussion forum by giving some guidelines about netiquette. There are the 'gentleman' and 'ladies' of this forum who stick to these guidelined due to their refined nature by default. But unfortunetly some have not bothered to read, acknowledge or absorb the guidelines such as STILL TALKING IN CAPITALS WHICH IS THE EQUIVALENT OF SHOUTING AT SOMEBODY, making crass statements which merely results in 'flameups' and such other inanities as mentioned in my posting. The sad consequence of failure to follow these guidelines already has been two expert commentator's departure. With this sad and unfortunate trend continuing how many more decent contributors will we lose before notice is taken. Nevermind.

Tony.

There was an occasion a few months ago when someone stomped all over Mike Snook's toes and he threatened to leave. Fortunately for all of us, he remained. I notice that the contributor no longer appears to post on the forum. So this has happened before and will, no doubt, continue to happen, netiguette or not. After all, opinions are like noses - everyone has one.

Dawn,
egos are like mouths. We all have one of those as well but some are bigger than others.

And there's a reason we have one mouth and two ears - so we can listen twice as much as we speak! Smile
