I am considering buying the six volume set "Archives of Zululand; The Anglo-Zulu War, 1879" edited by Proffessor Laband. It is quite expensive. Is there anyone out there who has bought it? If so what is your opinion of it? Please let me know what you think.

James,

It's well worth it, Anglo-Zulu War Research Society membership can get it at a reduced rate, or you can buy it one volume at a time.
Details with next Journal - next week.

Or contact me on 20329 on the internal.

Hi James,
I have a complete set of the above. It is a superb and monumental piece of work and is a must for any serious Zulu War enthusiast. Also "The Red Book" is a similar publication although in a single volume. This comprises the Natal newspapers coverage of the war and is considerably cheaper.Cheers Dave.

David,

Thankyou for the recommendation. I already have "The Red Book" and you're right it is an excellent publication. Hopefully one day someone will publish a record of The Illustrated London News and The Graphic in one volume.

James,

It's already been done, back in 1979, in South Africa, the text was all transcribed and the illustrations were just photocopied.

If you want to use mine, you can come around and collect them.
