Date | Original Topic | 21st January 2003 | Curlings escape By Melvin Hunt In the telling of his escape from Isandlwana, Curling says that when the firing line broke the gunners trotted back to the camp and found that it was in possession of the enemy who were killing the men AS THEY RAN OUT OF THEIR TENTS.
Why would they have been in the tents as the battle had been raging for some time by now?

Melvin, i presume that this refers to the many non-combatants in camp at the time - staff, cooks, waggon drivers, contractors, sick, those off duty, etc etc. |
