How about you experts on this subject. Trowing some questions at us. It would give us a chance to put our theories to the test.
We all read various books on this subject and I would Imagine there would be a lot of different answers to your questions. Maybe one question a week.

Right, I have one. Can anyone come up with any evidence that a Zulu regiment called the umHlanga was present at Isandhlwana? I don't want a quotation from a list of Zulu regiments appearing in one of the numerous general books; I mean a primary contemporary source that proves the umHlanga participated or did not (or even existed in 1879). Binns and Morris both mentioned it but I've been searching since 1988 for a Zulu account by an umHlanga warrior or by another warrior who mentions this regiment, without success. It's the last Zulu regimental Isandhlwana jigsaw piece missing. Any takers?

Pte William Griffiths VC would have had his VC with him at Isandhlwana, but there is no account of someone finding it.

Someone found Griffiths' VC, somewhere. It is listed as on display in the regimental museum, according to the VC site. If found on the field, would it have ended up there?

Regarding the umHlanga, someone with access to Fynney's "The Zulu Army" could tell you if they existed in 1879 and when they formed. Knowing their age would help a lot. Once you know if they existed, you can dig deeper.

Does anyone know if Fynney's pamphlet is available onlline anywhere? Or in print?

You say Pte Williams Griffith's VC was found somewhere. But was it found on the battlefield of ISANDHLWANA. ?

Unlanga Regiment "The Reed" Details from Finneys list, November 1878: Raised by Mpande, age 28; Number 1000. There is an abbreviated form of Finney's lisr as an appendix in "Zulu Victory".
Sorry - I couldn't find where your question was so have answered this under Geoff Matthews!

The question is above and the question was can anyone provide a primary source to establish whether the umHlanga Regt was at Isandhlwana or not.

In the movie 'Zulu', Michael Caine makes reference to 'my man' when offering to clean Stanley Baker's kit. But who was Bromhead's servant or orderly? Does anyone know?

The only reference I can find to the uMhlanga regiment is in the spurious account of Zabange in the article called "The Gaudy Cloth". My own view is that they were not present.

Keith, for 'spurious' read 'faked'. The info for the Zabange 'account' came from Morris (who mentions the umHlanga) and he got this from CT Binns but there the trail runs dry.
