Date | Original Topic | 1st December 2002 | Gallant 24th Item query By M.Price Can anyone help I have just purchased a
item marked Gallant 24th. it as a victorian diamond hallmark the date I believe to be.
7th May 1876 I think ,has this date any
significance. The item is 2 3/4" Tall 2" Wide
Its a soldier pos. officer holding a flag on staff
on the base is the "THE GALLANT 24th.
This is a flat item Metal I think silver I will email photo if required. Thanks Mike

Given the date it may relate to a previous action suchas Chillianwala, in the Sikh War, as obvious the Colours were involved in that sad episode as well.
