12th March 2002Private Joshua Lodge, 25B/1304 b Company, anyone know anything about him?

I saw there was a Private Joshua Lodge in the 24th Reg. I am just courious if anyone would know anything about him? If he was from the North Somerset area, very possible that he could be from my family. Thank you. Mark

Yes there was a Joshua Lodge he was in the 2/24 who enlisted for 25 Brigade on 4/03/1877,Posted to 2/24 on 16/01/1878, his regimental number was 1304, full details are in Norman Holmes book The Noble 24th available from the museum of the R.R.Wales see links,I hope this is of help to you Kind Regards Clive

LODGE Joshua 25/B/1304 Private
Attested for 25 Brigade 4/3/1877.Posted to 2nd BN 24 Foot 16/1/1878.
Private 4/3/1877; appointed Lance Corporal 1/11/1881. Made a monthly remittance of �2 to a Mrs Lodge, March 1879. Service continued in South Wales Borders 1/7/1881. Promoted Corporal 1/1/1882. Returned to England from India1/5/1883. Date of discharge not traced,
Served in South Africa and in India in the Kaffir War 1878.Served in the Zulu War 1879, a Private in B Company at Rorkes Drift.
