Date | Original Topic | 7th July 2005 | Buthelezi defends his ancestor By Peter Ewart
Interesting article in today's Witness by Mangosuthu Buthelezi himself, defending Mnayamana of the treachery of which he was accused immediately before the capture of Cetshwayo.
See Laband "Rope of Sand" (p333) for the other side of the argument.
Peter | Date | Replies | 18th July 2005 | Edward Bear Are we, perhaps, watching a succession of gentle pin pricks intended to provoke King Zwelithini into designating his successor as King. In other words, reminders that the Buthelezi clan are at least credible as an alternative line to the Usuthu and 'lineal' faction. It's a bit 'Stuarts and Hanoverians', I agree, but stranger things have happened.
