By Richard Howes
At the risk of sounding like an anorak, I have a rather petty query that somebody may be able to help me with- on the Rorkes Drift Roll of Honour compiled by Julian Whybra and Norman Holme, based on the Chard and Bourne Rolls, that the Royal Regiment of Wales just sent me, I see that two soldiers of B Coy had exactley the same numbers-

Kears, Patrick. Private. 25B/972, B Company, and
Edwards, George. Private. 25B/972, B Company, alias George Edward Orchard
Is my copy of the roll at fault, am I completely misunderstanding it, or is there another logical explanation?
