Does any one have any information about a book written, I believe, in 1902 called "One of Buller's Horse" by William Johnstone?
Did Johnstone serve with Buller in the Zulu War?

Melvin,

The book is a novel aimed at teenage youth market, shades of Henty.

It appears there only one man with the name William Johnstone who served in the 1879 campaign against the Zulu. Given that he died at Isandlwana we can safely discount him as the author.

The book seems very much based on the general newspaper material on Hlobane & Khambula.

Hope that helps?
