Could anyone please inform me as to if photographs exist of the funeral of Cheif Sandile of the Xhosa and if any members 2/24th acted as pole bearers or were present as a guard of honour.
Cheers

All I've ever seen have been engravings - one springs to mind, where some Mfengu levies are attempting to attack the body, and an officer is endeavouring to restore order.
Mfengu levies provided the pall-bearers at the burial. 'A' & 'B' Companies 2nd/24th were present at the burial. The 24th officers present were Major W.M. Dunbar, Captain J.M.G. Tongue & Sub-Lt. T.L.G. Griffith.

Thanks for your replies, do you know where the best place to get a copy of the engravings would be?
Cheers
