Clive Dickens. | Date | Replies | 27th January 2002 | Alan Critchley Just for the record,
it's Isandlwana, and it's Adrian Greaves.
All these and many more publications are available from the Royal Regiment of Wales Museum (see links).
Alan | 27th January 2002 | Alex Rossiter I was about to buy the isandlwana book from the museum site when i saw 'british forces in zululand (which on osprey site is being reprinted and wiil be out in may)so i bought it instead,i will have to buy isandlwana next month | 28th January 2002 | Alec Weston This is a terrific book packed with some astonishing material I was never aware of. No wonder that Prof. Richard Holmes of the BBC liked it so much. And its well written in a way that makes it exciting. | 4th February 2002 | Julian Whybra This is an awful book - it is riddled with the most basic of errors (who still in 2002 would confuse A and E companies?)- Icount 212 mistakes so far. In addition, his so-called 'new' information which he claims to have 'found' was found and written about by myself and David Jackson in 1990 (Issue 60 Soldiers of the queen 1990). In addition large sections of our article have been reproduced verbatim (without our permission or knowledge). This is being taken further. I do not recommend anyone buys this drivel which sets the studies of Isandhlwana back to the days of DR Morris. | 26th April 2002 | Stephen McDonald Sounds like sour grapes from Julian...
Allan, have you read the booK? Whats your assessment?
It would cost about $40 in Canada so I'd like to find out if it is a good book before I spend that kind of $$$. Thanks |
