Born 10th. February
1853 in Cork, Ireland.
For his action
at Rorke's Drift he was mentioned
in despatches. He was in further action in the Transvaal war of
1880-1881 and at Tel-el-Kabir in 1882.
After 35 years
of service, he retired in Gibraltar in February 1908. He died at
The English Nursing home in Rome on 2nd. July 1908.
